Removing moisture by cooling the compressed air

A refrigerated air dryer uses the refrigeration cycle (compression → condensation → expansion → evaporation) to cool compressed air, so that the water vapor it carries is condensed into liquid and removed. As standard it produces dry air with a pressure dew point of 4–10 °C.

With a simple design and no consumables (desiccant or purge air), it is easy to operate and maintain.

A refrigerated dryer suits general processes where the goal is to prevent condensation; a desiccant dryer suits precision processes that need a sub-zero dew point.

In-house design and manufacturing capability

GENEQ applies its own microprocessor controller developed specifically for refrigerated dryers, and holds patents on power-saving technologies such as the electronic expansion valve (EEV) and the PCM and low-temperature condensate utilization system. Our design and manufacturing references range from small units to large capacities above 30,000 Nm³/h, and we also build

combination systems that pair an indirect refrigerated dryer with a desiccant dryer.

KGS Registration — Refrigeration Unit and Specified Equipment Manufacturing under the High-Pressure Gas Safety Control Act

GENEQ refrigerated air dryers are built at the GENEQ Gimhae plant, which holds manufacturing registrations for refrigeration units (packaged water-cooled and air-cooled) and refrigeration specified equipment (condensers, evaporators and pressure vessels) under Korea's High-Pressure Gas Safety Control Act (registered 17 February 2025). This is what the Korean market commonly calls "KGS certification": equipment subject to inspection by the Korea Gas Safety Corporation (KGS), designed and built by a registered manufacturer.

Because we build the refrigeration unit and the pressure vessels in-house rather than outsourcing them, KGS inspection, delivery and after-sales service and parts are handled by one company. The original certificates are on our Certifications page.
