Combined-Cycle Gas Turbine Data Acquisition & Control System

Combined Gas Turbine Data Acquisition & Control System

4 photos

Development and operation of control, performance analysis and real-time monitoring systems for combined-cycle power generation gas turbine engines.

Every test system,
on one screen

Many systems, one access point

Data integration lets the GENEQ DACS act as the operator's single access point to the test facility, by establishing communication links between the DACS and subsystems such as the D-DAS, GTCS and DCS. Over these links, operators and test engineers can set and monitor key parameters from a single system.

Purpose Give access to the entire test facility through the GENEQ DACS alone, without logging in to each individual subsystem (D-DAS, GTCS, DCS and others).

Method Develop communication links between the DACS and each subsystem.

Result Operators and test engineers perform all configuration and monitoring on one DACS screen, with no need to look into each system separately.

Time & Electrical Synchronization

The GENEQ DACS supports two advanced timing mechanisms to suit customer requirements: time synchronization and electrical synchronization.

GPS-based time synchronization

Time synchronization

A core element of modern data acquisition, time synchronization ensures that every sample acquired by every device is time-tagged in the best way that device can support. The main protocols are PTP, IRIG and NTP, based on a standard GPS source. Any system that needs real-time data is supported, and every sample carries the time at which it was actually acquired.

Main protocols: PTP, IRIG, NTP (based on a standard GPS source)

Electrical synchronization

A second synchronization mechanism supported alongside time synchronization, configured flexibly to match the customer's test environment and requirements. The detailed configuration is agreed for each project according to its test environment and specifications.

Data processing

The acquisition unit is the interface between the acquisition hardware and the processing of the acquired data, and manages the following four functions.

01 Data Acquisition Data acquisition through standard device driver management or communication protocols.

02 Time Stamping Full time synchronization at scan level, with PTP, IRIG and NTP support.

03 Data Exchange Real-time monitoring and recording over UDP or TCP on the Ethernet bus.

04 Control-Command Links I/O interfaces for bidirectional devices such as digital I/O and PLCs.

Set a new standard for your test site, with GENEQ

Drawing on years of development experience, GENEQ supports full communication with the upstream and downstream components you require and builds integrated control facilities around them. If you would like to know how a DACS could be configured for your test environment, contact us at any time.
